The Gower Riding Club is the oldest civilian riding club on the UK mainland, having been founded in 1936. It has been affiliated to the British Horse Society (British Riding Clubs) since 1960. We have a loyal and strong membership and we are always well represented at area and national competitions, both indoor and outdoor. We are part of Area 21 of the British Riding Clubs organisation.

The Gower Riding Club exists for the benefit of its members with set objectives.

We encourage our members to seek individual and team achievements in line with their experience and ability and we regularly provide expert tuition and training in each discipline (subject to demand and availability).

Our teams and individuals regularly compete in area qualifiers for show jumping, dressage, hunter trials and combined events. We have had some notable successes in recent years including the Thorowgood National Indoor Show Jumping Championships 1993, 2000 and 2001 and many others.

All competitions and events are run under the BHS / BRC rules, the Gower Riding Club rules and the Health & Safety Policy, with appropriate first aid cover provided at every event.

Please note that when on the Club field, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times!
